Mitak Ahmed: “If your business is not online, it will be a very difficult road for you”
Reading Time: 3 minutesMitak Ahmed is Founder, Brand Developer and Creative Director at DIJCOM. In conversation with Neolo he told us about his interest in design, the importance of having an online business and also the importance of having a website up to date.
What appeals to you about web design?
Web design needs to be flawless, a website is the homebase for your brand. Therefore it is very important. It needs to have exactly what your users want the look and feel must keep bringing the user back. Your website is the first impression a new user gets from who you are and what you do. A good web design could be the decision maker to whether you have more business coming in through the door or nothing at all.
Why and when did you found your own company?
I have always been a leader and someone that wants to make this world a better place. Having struggled through my childhood I know what it means to be at peace and to be happy. I want to bring change to the business world with my creative talents, build good relationships with business professionals and become good lasting friends. I want to launch more businesses that will move this world forward as well help people from all over the world especially the poor and needy. Create a chance and opportunity so we all can win at life. I founded DIJCOM in 2017 and started working with companies across the UK. My goal for Dijcom is to help build lasting brands, a stronger and healthy business that will be here for many years.
What steps do you take during your design process and how do you involve your clients?
During the design process I start planning how I can implement all the things that my clients want. After I have come up with strategies, prototypes and created a small presentation, I share this with my clients. We go through what we can change or add and talk some more strategies keeping in mind that this is for our target audience not for us. Once we are both happy, I go ahead and let my team know we can start working on the final version with the new data.
What tools do you use most when designing?
I mostly use Adobe XD and Photoshop. I also use websites like WordPress.
Would you recommend to your clients to have an online business? Why?
Yes! I would certainly recommend you have an online business or at least the current business you have now has an online place to live as well.
Since 2018 I have been telling everyone that if your business is not online, it will be a very difficult road for you.
That is exactly what happened when COVID-19 hit and most businesses suffered. Now every business is focused on building their online home. It has put me and my business, Dijcom, on high demand.
What does an online business need to have? Do you recommend HTTPS certification?
An online business needs a website for sure that is priority and then social presence on all social media platforms.
Mainly Linkedin. It would be good to have a HTTPS certification although it’s not needed completely especially if you are just starting out.
How do you think brands should evolve with time? How does this reflect on web design?
I think brands should constantly keep up with the current trends and with what is going on in the world right now. Constant updates and improvements made to the brand. Therefore the web design should always stay up to date and you should be focused on how I can keep making my brand better and how I can make the website even better for my users.
What tip would you give to an entrepreneur?
The path is very difficult and at times you feel like giving up. Success will test you but you have to be patient, never stop working even when things look bad and always treat people well because what you put out there will come back to you.
